Despite having only been around since early 2016, Dunder Casino has already built itself something of a strong reputation in the gambling industry, worming its way into the collective consciousness of many online gaming fans in a manner that many newer names have been unable to replicate.
So, does Dunder Casino live up to the billing of its illustrious cousins, or is it the ugly duckling of the family?
Bonuses and Promotions
Dunder Casino have put together a pretty tasty little bonus package, made up of the classic combo of free spins + matched deposits. Here’s how it works:
Dunder Casino will match your first 3 deposits up to a total bonus value of £600 as follows:
- 1st deposit – 300% up to £50 bonus cash
- 2nd deposit – 50% up to £150 bonus cash
- 3rd deposit – 25% up to £400 bonus cash
- 20 free spins on Starburst upon registering your account (no deposit required)
- A further 20 free spins on Starburst per day for 9 days after first deposit (activated at 01:00 CET)
- Free spins valid for 24 hours after activation
- Both the bonus cash and winnings from free spins have wagering requirements at 25x playthrough
- All bonus cash expires after 30 days
- Minimum deposit £20 in order to claim bonus cash
Now, the first thing that struck us about this bonus was that the presentation of information here is ever so slightly confusing. Most casinos make it fairly easy to understand how much bonus cash is on offer, but with this promotion, it took us a moment to figure out exactly what was going on.
Take the first deposit offer as an example:
300% up to £50 bonus cash. What this actually means is that the maximum bonus you can receive comes if you deposit £25, getting £75 back (and exactly £50 in bonus cash).
It’s a pretty weird approach, one we haven’t seen before. It feels less intuitive than the usual ‘300% bonus on deposits up to £25’, or even simply ‘deposit £25, play with £75.’
The good news is, once you figure out how the promotion actually works you’ll see that it’s rather a good one.
While there are plenty of offers out there boasting more bonus cash, there aren’t all that many with such reasonable wagering requirements. 25x playthrough is about as low as it gets these days, and a figure we would typically associate with much smaller promotions.
Add to that 200 free spins – 20 of which are doled out even before you make a deposit – and you’re left with one of the most attractive new customer promotions we’ve seen in a while
Sure, you’ll need to deposit quite a bit of cash to unlock the full £600 bonus cash available (£1925, to be precise), but even that isn’t as bad as some.
All in all (and in spite of the odd choice of wording), we like this promotion. And you know what?
That isn’t something we get to say all that often.
Dunder has gone big when it comes to games, clocking in at well over 1000 at our last count. While online casinos with this kind of scale are becoming more common, it’s still a fantastic achievement that shows a real commitment to offering gamers a wide selection that’ll keep them coming back for more time and time again.
As you might expect, a bunch of different providers have added titles to the mix here. We counted more than 25, in fact, mixing some of the biggest names out there with a few lesser-known software houses.
Dunder has gone to quite a lot of trouble to come up with a ton of different filtering options to help you find the games best suited to you, too, and you can search by provider, game type or theme.
If anything, they might have gone a bit overboard with the number of filtering methods for our tastes (there’s a whole page full of them), but the feature will no doubt be appreciated by some.
In all, there are some great titles to be found here, with some of the most popular including:
- Dead or Alive
- Thunderstruck II
- Viking Clash
Unsurprisingly, you’ll also find a nice selection of progressive jackpot games, including:
- Mega Moolah
- Mega Fortune
- Arabian Nights
While the slots library is highly impressive, those who prefer table games may be left feeling a little hard done by. Why? While you’ll find examples of the most popular variants, the selection here is a little limited.
What about live games? Unfortunately, it’s pretty much the same story. Evolution Gaming power the live casino offering at Dunder, but the selection is pretty small, especially when viewed alongside the huge number of slots available.
The mobile offering – both the browser version and the app, available on Apple and Android devices – is pretty strong, however, with a wide selection of games to choose from and a solid user experience.
As for payments at Dunder, there’re a fair number of options. Deposits can be made by:
Visa, Mastercard, Trustly, Skrill, Neteller, Euteller, EcoPayz, Paysafe.
Withdrawal options are the same, minus Mastercard.
How about withdrawal times? Here’s somewhere Dunder Casino really shines, aiming to process most withdrawals within 24 hours. The exception to this rule is Visa cards, which take 1-3 banking days – still not too shabby.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – we just love to see casinos offering rapid withdrawal times.
A day or two here and there may not make much difference in the grand scheme of things, but it’s great to see casinos showing the same commitment to paying cash out that they do to receiving it in the form of deposits.
We’re comfortable enough in saying that Dunder Casino does just that. Any other small print?
We ought to point out that there’s a minimum withdrawal of £20 across all methods, which is certainly a little too high for our liking.
Aside from that, most payment methods have an individual withdrawal limit of £5000, but players lucky enough to be bumping up against this limit can simply queue up multiple withdrawals, so no real harm done.
Perhaps a little surprisingly for a casino that does so many of the basics well, Dunder doesn’t currently offer 24/7 support, with live chat available only between the hours of 09:00 – 23:30.
Of course, this will suffice for many players, but it’s still a little disconcerting to know that any issue encountered during a late-night play session will have to wait till morning to be addressed.
There’s no support telephone number either, meaning support delivery is via text only – something that will no doubt turn off some players who feel it’s easier (and quicker) to talk to someone directly.
On the plus side, reports we’ve seen regarding the quality of support offered are good. Reservations over a limited time period and a lack of phone number aside, the support at Dunder is pretty good.
Considering the quality of some of the other casinos in the MT SecureTrade Ltd stable, Dunder Casino has quite a lot to live up to. That’s because both Guts and Rizk are fantastic gaming sites with strong game libraries and an innovative approach to the casino experience.
The good news is, Dunder largely lives up to the billing. First up is the fantastic game library, boasting over 1000 titles from an impressive array of providers. For slots lovers, in particular, Dunder is a great place to spin a few reels.
On the other hand, those who prefer table games – either virtual or live – may be left a little disappointed. While both these options are catered for, they don’t appear in anywhere near the numbers that some other casinos are putting out, and it makes for a slightly lopsided library.
It’s worth mentioning that the Dunder site design, user experience and general aesthetics are all absolutely top notch. While many of the newer casinos we review sport similarly snazzy design, we think Dunder still manages to stand out from the crowd.
We were also pleasantly surprised by the new customer bonus. Odd choice of wording aside, this is a pretty attractive offer made up of matched deposits and free spins. Crucially, the wagering requirements are refreshingly reasonable to boot – something that’s all too rare these days.
Banking options are decent if not overly extensive and withdrawals are paid nice and quickly. The only blot on the copy-book here is the unjustifiably high minimum withdrawal threshold – we’d love to see this fixed soon.
We can’t conceive of a good reason why a casino would prevent players from withdrawing amounts under £20, and it’s especially disappointing when viewed in light of the generally customer-friendly small print at Dunder.
Support is a bit of a mixed bag, with reports of knowledgeable and friendly support staff somewhat undermined by the limited support hours and contact methods. Depending on how you prefer to contact support and the times you like to gamble, this may or may not be an issue. So, what’s the verdict?
Overall, we’re really impressed with Dunder Casino. The site is beautifully designed, and there’s a great selection of games on offer, particularly for slots gamers. The experience isn’t perfect, but the vast majority of issues we encountered can be safely filed in the ‘minor quibbles’ Filofax.
This is a casino we’re very happy to recommend to our loyal readers.
